ABOUT PEA PORRIDGE

Pea Porridge opened it's doors on 9th October 2009 and is an independently owned neighborhood restaurant, located on a square, which was once a green, called "Pea Porridge Green." The Restaurant is situated in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, only a 5 minute walk from the Butter Market. We are tucked away in a quiet residential area next door to The Old Cannon Brewery on Cannon Street. (the market is still held every Wednesday and Saturday.)

Originally two cottages built in 1820, later hosted by a bakery. The Restaurant now comprises three delightfully unpretentious dining rooms with wooden floors, old pine tables, exposed brick, open fire and splendid baker's oven. It has a cosy. homely, frenchie feel...

New New owners Justin (head chef - proprietor) and Jurga Sharp (front of house) share a great passion for food and wine. Simplicity is genius in our kitchen. We source top quality ingredients and with a nod towards Mediterranean shores allow key flavours to shine through lovingly with minimal fuss.
